The wind sails over the water’s surface
Quietly, but surely

It is not time.

Minerva watched in silence as Omega surged to full strength.

Chaos, as foretold, must be at his side.

But Chaos, bound to a human, was not commanded by Omega.

This…was a good thing.

Chaos, too, knew that this was not the time, that the planet was not ready to move on.

One day, children, your task will fall to hand, but not this day. No mortal can command the end of the world – even if he thinks himself a god.

And now…

These events were necessary. She does not grieve, or fret; she knows that the end will not arrive today.

But were it not for the actions of men, Chaos would never have learned compassion, or wisdom, and Omega would never have woken from the dreams of aeons past.

Those dreams…had not been pleasant. Waking was a mercy.

And now…

She regarded her newest defender, awaiting his teacher far below the drama playing out in the skies. The men who had brought all this to bear were gone, but their legacy was far from forgotten. While those who witnessed the clash of Chaos and Omega were properly impressed, they had no idea what was just around the corner.

As she so often did, Minerva smiled sadly at their hubris.

And now…

Children of Gaia, return, and sleep. Omega, return to peaceful dreams for a time, the nightmare distant. Chaos, sleep in the heart of the planet and tell me of your travels.

While away the turning times until the curtain rises upon the final act.
